Alaska Zoo Reviews

I highly recommend taking the free shuttle from downtown. I went in the morning and was the only person on the bus. FYI - a taxi from downtown (like the Hilton) to the zoo will run you about $30 - $40. The cost of admission (when I went) runs about $10 and they do offer behind the scences for an extra $10. But they only do this at selected times throughout the day. This place is geared more for kids, but if you aren't planning to going all the way to Northern Alaska to see a Polar Bear, I would see them here.

The zoo was really small, but it was worth the trip. They had a Polar bears, black bears, arctic foxes, camels, and moose to name a few. If you get a guided tour it is especially fun, since you get to go "behind the scenes" and see the animals really close.
