Fortress of Al-ukhaidir or also called Abbasid Palace of Alukhaidir .

location of the palace.

Alukhaidir Palace located in the desert about 50 KM of the holly town of Karbala in Iraq and about 150 KM of baghdad ,the capital of Iraq,it is also locate near a very nice town called Ain tamr which mean in arabic The Eye of Dates due to plenty of dates trees there in this town.

One can arrive to this fortress by car only .Alukhaidir palace also located on the road between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

History of Alukhaidir palace.

This fortress erected in 775 AD ,it constructed by the Abbasid caliph`s As-Saffah`s nephew Isa ibn Musa.Excavation at Alukhaidir palace were conducted in the late 19th century .

u'd be suprised, it is actually quite a safe area to visit at the moment, it's just a shame people don't realise that...there is so much development going on over here at the moment you want to visit before everyone else does!
