Good Value but not fanstastic Feb 21, 2009
Good hotel in the centre of Aleppo. 500 Syrian Pounds (about 8.50 euro) for single room. Comfortable but not fantastic. Bathroom smelt a bit of stagnant water. Friendly staff. Central location behind the Sheraton hotel.

One of the best hotels you can find in Syria.
The common rooms are very nice, furnished with kilims and carpet, and comfortable sofas... very cosy indeed. Ahmed and his guys are great! Funny and willing and definitely kind. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable too, equipped with a fan at the ceiling and satellite TV. Almost all the rooms have the bathroom inside, and the linens are clean. The location is optimal: you can reach the most important places in town in a few minutes! The prices per room is about 800 syrian pounds, but Ahmed will make you a discount if you have the International Student Card. So... can you find something better? |

So I browsed in and decided to go to Al Gawaher Hotel which wasn’t far from the place the bus dropped me off. I could navigate myself easily. Upon arrival at the hostel there was Italian couple waiting to be checked in. There was room available. I made small chat with them. Massimo… I lost in the labyrinth and don't want to be found |
