The Al Dora area south of Baghdad is a great place to visit. The people are wonderful and the food is great (actually some of it really is). If you are a tea person, believe you me the Chi Tea in that part of the country is excellent. The accommodation's can be wonderful if you know where to look (see picture, this is where I lived for a year). Just north of the Al Dora district is Baghdad itself (the green zone). There you will be able to wonder around the college as well as see many monuments to both Iraq the country and its ex-leader. So if you have time and personal body armor then I suggest Al Dora, Iraq. Enjoy.
