Less than one and a half hours from the capital Amman, lie two castles and one Oasis. On my way to the Al Azraq Oasis which can be, depending on luck and season, a real delight for birdwatchers, I pass two castles at the same road.

My by far fovourite, Al Harraneh. Ahead of it, Al Amra. The Oasis itself at the end of the road is neat whereas rather small. No buses lead to neither of these attractions. Only options either a Taxi Cab, or a car hire. In my opinion to rent a car is the better and much cheaper option, on the other it's not really easy for a foreigner to adjust to the countries unique driving habbits within a day! There is always the possibility to haggle prices down when hiring a Taxi, it depends really on how much appears reasonable to you.

The Al Karak castle lies beyond the amazing Mujib Valley with its wildlife and mountain formation, along with the Mujib dam. Passing this area, you will arrive Al Karak with its castle.

There is not really much to describe, I will simply let some photos of mine speak for themselves. Please enjoy!
