Aki's Sushi Reviews
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Best Sushi & a True Neighborhood Staple! Sep 08, 2008
Aki's is the best place to get sushi and meet the nicest people. It's a true locals hang out and you can expect long waits on Friday and Saturday nights for the sushi bar. I've been frequently Aki's for a number of years and it's just as wonderful as the day I first found him!
Aki used to be at the other place on 7th (Aki Sushi and Bai-Plu Thai) but this is his own place now. He has no affiliation with the other restaurant!!! This is a bit smaller but still the same great sushi and people. The fish is super fresh, the atmosphere is great, and the people are incredible. Aki's son Craig works there as well and either one will treat you well. Also Alex is now a sushi chef and has been very loyal to Aki over the years - it is great to see the three of them working together. This was my old hang out several times a week before I moved to Vegas, but I can still come back a couple times a year and nothing has changed, except a few new faces at the bar. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ONE OF THE BEST HAMACHI Sep 07, 2008
I just arrived from MEXICO, i plan to just relax. Erin talked me into having sushi with Tracy. Alice, victor, and her friend, AL. i can't say no to sushi.
erin has been telling me about this place for months. i am glad i finally got a chance to try it. it passed the MY HAMACHI test with flying colors. everything i ordered was outstanding, hamachi, eel, stripped bass, sea bream, octopus, and fishbone. all were fresh and smooth. all for $20 it was a simple sushi bar. no fancy ambiance or background music. just give me a TV and freah sushi am happy. aki and his son are the sushi chef's. there are others too but i don't know their names. everybody that eats there are mainly regulars who knows aki and other customers. it's like cheers, everybody knows your name. i would definitely come back. it is worth the drive from the valley. there "catch of day" changes daily. aki always has special dishes for his regulars.
