Akcent Hotel Prague

If you are a couple traveling in Prague ditch the hostels NOW and book yourself into a decent hotel for the same price. The Akcent is about the same price as a private room in most hostels and is a far superior option.

A huge room with a big window, after staying in nasty, overpriced hostels we were at once impressed with the quality of the Akcent. For the first time in our journey we found ourselves increasing our stay as we had finally found a little bit of luxury.

Outside of the room, the rest of the hotel is somewhat sterile. The restaurant has decent breakfast buffet but during the rest of the day it is empty and lacks any vibe whatsoever. The adjoining casino is completely dead and the staff there look as bored as the workers in the restaurant.

However this is Prague and there is no shortage of decent restaurants in Smichov itself and the rest of Prague. The hotel entrance is just a few steps away from the Andel 2 metro stop. Otherwise a 5 minute walk will bring you to central Andel and Novy Smichov area. Be sure to try 'Hombre Del Mundo ' mexican restaurant,'Kava kava kava' coffee shop and 'Jetset' for a late night beverage in a chic bar with superb lighting and house beats.

Internet hookup? Yes, no wifi but the hotel will lend you a cable.
Friendly staff? Yes - overly helpful.
