Airport in Bogota - El Dorado International Airport (BOG) Feb 23, 2009
El Dorado Airport is located 13km from downtown. It has 2 El Dorado (the main one) and Puente Aereo (1km from El Dorado), so make sure you know which terminal you're flying from.
The Puente Aéreo handles Avianca's international flights to NYC and MIA, and domestic flights. Puente Aéreo terminal is more comfortable, but there are not many duty-free shops. The El Dorado is the main terminal. It's older, but it's getting modernized. It has more amenities than the other one, such as snack bars, restaurants, and handicraft shops. A couple of tips: -There are buses running from one terminal to the other quite frequently. -You have to pay an airport tax when you are using this airport. International flight: US$33, Domestic one US$5. -In order to go to the airport you can take a taxi, but there are also the colectivos or busetas from downtown to the airport. And of course, you can't leave Colombia with a nice coffee and here there is Free Colombian coffe available inside the customs area. |
