Airphilexpress Pasay City Reviews
Low cost carrier of Philippine Airlines Nov 15, 2012
Airphil Express (or AirPhil, APX or IATA code 2P) is the second largest low cost carrier (LCC) of the Philippines, after Cebu Pacific Air. It was incorporated in 1995 and has undergone ownership changes, most recently with San Miguel Corporation buying a 49% stake in the company with management control.
AirPhil primarily serves second tier Philippine domestic destinations as well as regional Asian destinations. They have 21 aircraft as of late 2012, and have placed orders for medium range widebodied Airbus A330s, which will serve their future international destinations.
Major changes are coming to AirPhil beginning October 2012. In Manila, they operate their flights out of NAIA Terminal 3. They have also taken on most of Philippine Airlines' destinations (currently they fly to more than 20 domestic points) but not anymore to the larger cities like Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Davao, General Santos, etc. This is most likely an airline marketing strategy to address route rationalization and terminal congestion.
Despite being an LCC, they now offer snacks on board plus the ability to earn Frequent Flyer Miles on Philippine Airlines' Mabuhay Miles program, something other LCCs do not offer.
On my recent flights with AirPhil, I was able to take advantage of online check-in (do this so you can avoid long lines at the check-in counter), as well as reserve preferred seats in advance (I usually choose the front row seats on the left side). Their service on board is generally friendly, and there will be more interaction between the flight crew and the passengers now that they are serving snacks.
Since flying with then over 10 years ago, I can say that they have greatly improved their level of service, brought in new aircraft, and moved to a better airport terminal. I am sure that in the future they will have more destinations, as well as larger planes which will enhance the flying experience.

Another low cost budget Airline in the Philippines Jun 25, 2011
Airphilexpress or formerly known as Air Philippines , is considered as the fastest growing low cost budget airline in the Philippines. It also operates extensive flights from Manila , Cebu , Davao and Zamboanga .
It was last March 2011 when I had the chance to try their service during my trip to Cebu and missed my flight from Manila to Cebu at same time. ( My fault )
Here are things that I included in my check list:
Positive review would include .
1. Much Cheaper fare ( compared to Cebu Pacific ) - a 789php one way promo fare to Cebu at that time.
2. Cool and accommodating Flight attendants their outfits really are for summer season.
3. My flight going back to Manila Arrived on time .
Not so positive review :
1. aircraft facility- The flight attendant was announcing something via the speaker system and there were moments of malfunctioning. It's like an awkward squeaking sounds followed by dead air .The FA's announcements were interrupted several times and never came clear to us.
2. In their website for online booking there is only one mode of payment which is through CC-payment and it is very inconvenient to some passengers who don't have.
take note that I have flown only once and my review would be based only from that one experience that I had with Airphil express.
