I had a really bad start to the trip. I was amongst the first to board the aircraft as I was seated at the rear. It was roasting inside ... after a couple of apologies by cabin crew, the Captain came over the PA to apologise for the heat as he had turned off one of the air-conditioning units. I probably would have been more understanding if there had been a malfunction but this sounded like he was trying to save fuel.
A bad headache soon came on. Then to add insult to injury, the cabin crew distributed hot towels. They didn't think of doing cold towels in consideration of the situation. The crew were extremely smiley and obliging through the flight. They did two rounds of pre-lunch drinks ... meaning that the meal service didn't start until two hours into the flight. Then they did another two rounds of drinks before resting ... very impressive. Meals were so-so. The on-screen news clips (supposedly updated by satellite) were a week old ... and so was the weather forecast. Part of the 2006 Xiamen & Northern India travel blog |

I try unsuccessfully to cancel my Singapore Airlines flights!!
I go to Air New Zealand office in Apia Samoa and buy 2 tickets to Auckland, for the next day.
We were very disappointed there(imagine the cost of 2 return tickets Auckland-France!)
Finally I arrive at Auckland Airport, run to the Singapore… Unattended stopover! |
