Airlie Apartments Whitsundays

My family and I stayed here overnight before boarding a chartered boat for a 6 day sailing trip. Airlie Beach is a small town with one main street and these apartments are on end of this street, although 5 minutes up a fairly steep hill. A great view is the plus though...

The block consists of a number of apartments - some older style, some recently updated/renovated/re-decorated - all of which open out onto a central pool area. We stayed in one of the newer ones and found everything as needed. Two bedrooms - main room with comfortable queen bed, one smaller room with double/single bunk, and a sofa bed that sleeps two in the living - with one shared bathroom between all of us. Kitchen is well equipped and pleasant to work in. A huge wraparound balcony with seating for 6 for meals and two sun lounges made the outside very inviting. Everything was clean (bar a small mishap that was soon sorted out by the friendly managers).

One negative of this complex is the small nature of the apartments and their proximity to each other, as this meant that noise was at times an issue. The family downstairs were aware of our footsteps on their ceiling and we heard their kids arguing the very next morning (early!). But given we are all families, a certain amount of understanding was extended to all... We would return here in the future for affordable, quality accommodation for our family.
