Aire and Calder Navigation Feb 03, 2017
I walked on the Aire and Calder Navigation where the River Aire passes through Brotherton, a village on the border of North/West Yorkshire. There is no river path so I had to walk through the village of Brotherton and walked through a poorly maintained trail (with overgrown vegetation and nettles!) to reconnect with the navigation at Ferrybridge. Public transport is very limited so I was more than happy to have reached Ferrybridge where buses are plentiful!
