Aščinica ASDŽ is a type of the traditional Bosnian restaurant where you can get mostly cooked food eaten with spoon. There is also an offer of other meals, those you can find in other specialised restaurants like buregdžinica or ćevabdžinica.

Alcohol and smoking are forbidden here.

Catering and takeaways are available but it is better to have your order in the restaurant, specially in the restaurant's garden during summer.

From the entrance you'll see various warm dishes in pots, exposed behind the glass. A guest chooses food and in the end of the line there is a cashier, where you pay and bring your food to the table you find free. There is a dinning room available also on the first floor.

A large selection of delicious local specialties can be found here. I chose a cooked dish of meat and okra in tomato juice and spices with mashed potatoes. For a dessert I opted for tufahija( in Arabic tufahi is an apple), a whole peeled apple which center is filled with ground wallnuts and eggs and shortly cooked in a sugar syrup. Its top is decorated with whipped cream.

All was served in traditional metal plates with addition of a special fresh bread somun. The price of meals in aščinicas is cheaper than in other type of restaurants, and here you have all healthy food made in Bosnia by centuries old recipes.

Following the modern trends, in the restaurant is provided a free Wi-Fi. The restaurant is open every day from 08:00a.m. - 07:00p.m.
