Great Egyptian food at bargain prices Jan 10, 2017
This EGYPTIAN café is on 2 floors. The basement is spacious, and the place to linger over a leisurely meal. The ground floor is casual, and where all the action happens.

There is a charcoal grill and an oven for baking breads and pizzas. Wraps (in pita bread) are prepared at the bar. These can contain anything from freshly made superb falafels to wonderful salads to chargrilled kebabs, and combinations of these. The menu contains a wide range of Egyptian dishes, all at reasonable prices.

A steady flow of customers order drinks (non-alcoholic) and food from the bar. The friendly staff appear to know many of the customers and took touble to make us, strangers, feel most welcome.

We enjoyed falafels and also fried lamb's liver - delicately flavoured but cooked to perfection.

Until visiting this place, we had always headed to Ali Baba's superb Egyptian restaurant in Ivor Place, but now I feel that our allegiance is wavering towards AhI Cairo.

Yes, do give it a try. It is not a 'chic' place, but an honest good-value, high quality place.

It seems that there are many restaurants in London where delicious Arabic food is served. Your review makes me want to give it a try.
