Simply unique Sep 12, 2011
Afflecks is a legend; an eclectic emporium of indie designers and traders, with an emphasis on vintage and originality, you will find all sorts here - from clubbing gear, fettish gear, designer jewelry, theatre props, tattoo artists, laser teeth whitening, trendy t-shirts and a mix of individual one-off stores.

There is cafe area on the top floor, though it's a bit basic and Afflecks itself is a bit rough around the edges. This isn't luxury shopping, but if you appreciate originality or things that are a bit out of the norm, it is definitely worth a visit, as you will probably never have been anywhere quite like it before.

From Back Piccadilly, across from the fountains at Piccadilly Gardens, go down Lever Street, then at the intersection with Dale Street, go left down Church Street.

Once inside, be considerate if you are taking pictures. You may be asked to put your camera away, as many of the clothes on show are one-off designer pieces and understandably designers need to protect their creative ideas.

Exciting and Diverse Shopping Experience May 23, 2011
Afflecks Palace is a must visit if you find yourself in Manchester city centre. Located in the uber trendy Northern Quarter (my favorite part of the city to hang out!) you can enjoy an afternoon just browsing through the amazing and quirky stores or if you have a bit of cash and want to get some little bits and bobs to remind you of your visit to Manchester this is the place for you.

If you are really into the indie scene, a lover of tattoos piercing or anything bizarre and unique Afflecks Palace has it all. For arty types and theatre lovers this is a dream spot full of colorful wigs to top hats and costumes for your productions and artwork.

Fashionistas there is also so much for you to discover hidden away in the vintage boutiques and in contrast a wide selection of kitsch pieces to amuses and amaze from jewelry to Betty Boop alarm clocks and mints to Mr Men Mugs, Hello Kitty and retro Japanese fashion. Afflecks Palace is a lovely afternoon out and is just one of the exciting and diverse shopping experiences Manchester has to offer.

Unique and interesting place to shop or browse May 17, 2011
Afflecks Palace is a pretty unique place. It is I guess what you might call an indoor market but one which specialises in more alternative/interesting things.

There are loads of different stalls selling allsorts of weird and wonderful things, from indie/retro fashion, through to gothic, punk , basically anything goes in here. There are tattoo/piercing places and everything in between. Retro is the main thing in here, from retro gaming/consoles, old music stalls, retro clothes, it's a pretty cool place.

I would recommend Afflecks to anyone visiting Manchester, even if you aren't particularly 'alternative', there is enough here to at least have a look round and see what you find.
