Affinia Hotel Chicago

The Affinia Chicago is located a block off of Michigan Avenue (the Miracle Mile) on the north end of "the strip" near the John Hancock Tower.

The Affinia was formerly the Fitzpatrick, and appears to have been recently renovated. It's a relatively small hotel, and the rooms are not enormous, but they are reasonably good. The bed was VERY comfortable, and the location overall can't be beat. So if you don't plan to spend your entire stay in your room and prefer to have an excellent location, the Affinia is a good choice.

The hotel staff is very friendly, and they do seem to be eager to please. A nice touch is that you can fill out a visitor profile and select one of over 40 pillows including buckwheat, down, memory foam, and even a pillow with iPod speakers buried deep inside.

Dining options include a restaurant off the lobby, and there is an open roof bar at the top of the building with a great view. Right next door is Gino's East for some pizza, and the Elephant and Castle bar is just a hundred yards away.

I would not hesitate to stay at the Affinia again. I chose the hotel because it was the #4 rated hotel in Chicago according to TripAdvisor.
