Adventure Inn Hotel San Jose

We stayed at the Adventure Inn for one night in early September. It was the last day of our visit to Costa Rica and our flight back to the US left early the next morning so we were looking for some place affordable near the airport (a 5-10 km drive away). The inn is located about 1km off the Inter-American highway and is basically between the airport and San Jose. There is very little around the hotel..an Italian restaurant, a pharmacy, a casino, other hotels.

The inn and our room itself were pretty tacky; it didn't really pull off the "adventure" theme. The room was on the smaller side, but clean.

There is a hot tub...but it is weirdly situated in the hallway and wasn't very hot. Lacking motivation to drive anywhere for dinner after 5 days on bumpy Costa Rican roads we had dinner at the restaurant. We had very low expectations but the food, especially the banana split, was surprisingly decent.

Also, we booked our car rental through the Adventure Inn website and got a great, cheap rental and great service from the agency the Inn booked through,Tricolor Car Rental.
