Adelaide best night spots Reviews

Here are some of the best places to go in Adelaide, because face it theres not much to do here but get blotto.
Monday- Monday any pub will do, nothing really goes on Mondays but my favourite is the Grace Emily on Waymouth Street in town or the Casino on North Terrace. Tuesday- Tuesday head to the Edinburgh Hotel, Mitcham which is a 15 minute cab ride from town, its just a pub but they have cheap drinks and its the busiest place in Adelaide on a tuesday. Wednesday- Wednesday night there is basically only one place to be, Flashdance at HQ (Adelaide's Superclub, no longer owned by bikies). This is one of the best experiences and age is no barrier because the music is 60's right through to today. They also have a r'n'b room but stick to the main room its a bunch of fun. Thursday- Thursday night is for cheap drinks and ladies night. If your around Marion check out Shenannigans Pub which has cheap drinks and young folks. But if your in town definitely check out PJ Obriens for free vodka for ladies 9-10 and cheap drinks most of the night for us gals. Its pretty much a pick up place for guys who want drunk chicks as well! Also good is the Alma Tavern, a 10 minute cab ride from town and it is owned by two AFL players offering good music and cheap drinks. Friday- Friday night if your after a younger crowd head to The Victoria Hotel about a 20 minute cab ride from the city, its full of young blood but its good if you want to dance. Also a younger crowd but definitely the liveliest place in Adelaide is the Rammsgate Hotel in Henley Square. Its about 30 minute cab ride from Town but its definitely worth it if your after popular people. Note to the girls, this place is extremely bitchy and snobby so hold your own. In town check out Rocket bar on Hindley Street if your after live alternative music and funky house music. The elephant and wheelbarrow is better on a Friday night, offering a decent cover band and room to move on the dance floor as compared to saturday nights. Saturday- Saturday nights are definitely the big night in A*Town. Anywhere in town is good. Adelaide city is split (nightlife wise) into West and East. The best in the West is definitely the Vodka bar (a special champagne lounge for ladies), Savvy for funky dance music and the Marble Bar for uber cool people. If your a little more pubby than clubby check out the Colnel Light Hotel for cheap early drinks and the Woolshed on Hindley St for country folk but a good time. East is definitely reserved for Rundle Street pubs where the best places to dance is definitely The Stag at the end of Rundle Street. The best chill out pubs for the guys are the Austral and the Exeter ( a little more grungy). If your partial to cocktails check out Fumo Blu on Rundle thats a really nice place, then head next door if your after house and trance to Sugar. *AVOID- Avoid the London Tavern on North Terrace this place has gone very downhill lately and has alot of disgruntled employees, extremely vile bouncers and door staff. Instead head to Swish (my favourite spot), about 200 metres towards the Casino for basically the same thing but more upper class and less feral. Sunday- Definitely the most popular place if the Grand Bar and Pier Hotel in Glenelg. If the line up to the Grand is too long, follow the crowd to the Pier. Im more partial to the Pier because its less crowded and better bar staff. Dont use this as an ultimate guide, its just my experience over the last 5 years living here and im sure you all like different things. But this is just a guideline if your travelling over here! Have fun! |
