Access Resort Phuket

The Access Resort and Villas in Phuket, visited in 2008. The website and all it’s photos already made my mouth water! Then I still had to wait so many weeks between booking and actually arriving there. But my long wait was rewarded though.

What makes this hotel so special? All the rooms are located at ground level and have direct access to the swimming pool. So simply walk from your room to your patio and step into the pool, how’s that for comfort. The pool runs all along the buildings so you can swim from one end to another and back, along your swim there are larger spaces to swim and play around in. Or sip ‘n dip at the swimming pool bar. Even the room service comes to you via the pool!

The rooms are quite spacious and have warm and cosy decoration. All the in room facilities are available like a fridge, minibar, coffee and tea making is also possible. Even insect repellent was provided, be careful however they will charge you for that even though we couldn’t find it mentioned on the minibar charge slip in the room.

The breakfast buffet offers a lot of choices in Western and Asian breakfast items. The dinner buffet also looked very appetizing, rather have á la cart? also no problem. The staff was, as all Thai, very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is not located on the beach but slightly more inland on the parallel road, a shuttle bus is provide however to the Karon Beach or Patong Beach. The hotel is at Karon Beach namely.

Right next door is a 7Eleven for all your necessities, which is also handy I think. The Access Resort and Villas is excellent value for money I think which shows cause during our stay it looked fully booked. Karon Beach is somewhat quieter and a little less touristic then nearby Patong Beach.
