This trip was to visit friends who live in a suburb of Mexico City called Tlalnepantla.
We drove from Indy to Fort Wayne on February 1 in order to catch a flight to Detroit. The flights from Indy were looking close and we did not want to chance it. We flew a Northwest Airlink CRJ-200 aircraft up to Detroit and took a Northwest Airbus 319 down to Mexico City. Those flights were, as we say in the industry, wide open. It was real turbulent&nbs...

I will start this off with a brief preface: I enjoyed Acapulco, the trip was great, the company amazing, and the swim up bar was a yummy treat. Americans in Acapulco have to be careful a little more careful than you would be in most other places in Mexico. It is rated high on the list of kidnappings and people going missing in the night. With that being said, Chaves was hired by the hotel to be my shadow and I was not detoured from going out and exploring every inch of groun...

We expected the paradies from what we've heard but we were very dissapointed!!!I imagined a wonderful beach and a great place to hang out...the beach was awful and cars were never endling rushing trhough the center!
However we checked in at the Hyatt hotel and i was finally able to take a shower and relax!:DAfter that we went to see the cliffjumers which was a great thing to see but more show and...

I stayed at the Las Brisas Acapulco. Beautiful views of the bay, but very expensive to eat, drink etc. It also was a hassle to get anywhere into the city of Acapulco as Las Brisas was settled high up and away on the steep hills from downtown Acapulco. The water is green and murky, but Las Brisas had their own private section of beach which was wonderfully set up, and they had 2 man-made lagoons in which you could snorkel and that was fantastic. Without all the waves po...

In the coming week this blog will be filled with stories about Mexico.
Traveling with me is Teddy, as can seen on the picture. His dream was to see the most beautiful places around the world. This is the first step to realize his dream
This blog is most of the time in English, but sometimes in Dutch
So Enjoy :D

SPENT 7 DAYS IN THE MEXCIAN RIVIERA. HAD THE BEST TIME IN CABO SAN LUCAS, MAZATLAN, AND ACAPULCO. BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, GREAT SNORKELING, WHALE WATCHING, LOTS OF SHOPPING AND SIGHT SEEING "OFF THE BEATEN PATH":) FOOD AND ICE CARVINGS ON A CRUISE SHIP ARE EXQUISITE. HOWEVER, THOUGH CRUISING IS FUN, ONCE YOU'VE DONE IT, WHY DO IT AGAIN? THE ROOMS, EVEN WTIH THEIR WINDOWS AND BALCONIES, ARE STILL TOO TINY FOR ME TO ENJOY. HOWEVER, HAVING SAID THAT, I THINK A TRIP TO ALASKA W/FRIENDS IS IN THE WORKS

I've been to Mexico twice in 2001 and 2005. Once to Cancun (2005) and also from Mexico City traveling through to Acapulco (2001). I had a great time, well except for the almost death experience in Acapulco parasailing. The only thing I didn't like about going to Mexico was that I stuck out... tall and blonde aren't common there.

In november 2006 we travelled aproximately 4.000 km from the really crowded Mexico-City to the relaxed city of Antigua. Not only beautiful nature, friendly people but also al lot of experiences during the 21 days traveling through the Central Americans. Because it is a lifetime experience my page is called jacqinmiddenamerika :-)
