Acadia National Park Vacation Guide
Acadia National Park in Maine is located mostly on Mount Desert Island. Between the towns of Bar Harbor and Bass Harbor, the park boasts a 20 mile loop road tour around mountains and along the ocean with fantastic New England views, and a 45 mile carraige road system where no cars are allowed to this day, and many miles of hiking trails. The highest point in the park, Cadillac Mountain, is the tallest mountain on the eastern seaboard, and as a result is the first part of the United States to see the sunrise every morning. You can hike or drive to the top, and if you go before dawn, you will be among the first in the country that the sun will shine on that day! Be sure to stop for lunch and popovers at Jordan Pond House, a popular tradition for over a hundred years now. A beautiful park with scenic New England charm!
