Great accommodations, awkward night policy Apr 16, 2011
I have great things to say about this hostel. The front desk staff are really good, always ready to help make any reservations for the museums (which you really have to do), or direct you to anywhere you may want to go. They also have outings with staff members in the evenings to clubs and bars...great!

The rooms themselves were great; we stayed in a 4 bed dorm that had 2 beds on one level and two on another...great for a little privacy! The common area was clean.

The only thing to be aware of is that this hostel is located in a residential building, and you therefore have to VERY quiet when coming in after 9pm. Not really a problem, so long as you are ready to go right to sleep when you get in!

The hostel itself wasn't super fun, but the staff and other travelers we met made it a great place to be. You CAN NOT beat the location, truly right in the heart of Florence.

Best Hostel on my trip May 17, 2011
Stayed there for 5 nights. It was fantastic. They had a great happy - very good environment to meet other travelers. Great central location - walking distance to the Duomo and most of the art museums. A gem in a gem of a city.

This is a discreet boutique hostel and it is located under the casted shadow of the magnificent Cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore or what the locals call Il Duomo. This hostel is totally embraced by the history that surrounds it, as it resides inside an early 17th century palace.

This is not a party hostel. They attract clients who are looking for a home away from home, a place where you can sit and read a book, relax after walking the streets. They are not a youth hostel, but embrace every traveler, the young and the young at heart. They claim they create the ambience to allow people to meet, talk over wine/beer and embark on their own adventures together.

Their staff are composed of locals that can introduce you to all you are looking for and more. Offering great tips and suggestions to enjoying this city to the fullest.

They have NO BUNK BEDS, making it a very comfy, familiar and friendly environment.

All rooms are air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter, they provide have lockers equipped with lock and key. Free WI-FI hotspot in the common room as well as free computers in the lobby.

All the bed linens are provided for free of charge, along with a bath towel. Comfortable couches in the lobby.

An important note: they empty the hostel from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. so they can clean the hostel; you should be out site seeing around this time anyway or having a delicious meal. No noise after 11 p.m.

Once again I repeat - THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOSTEL. You can go out and drink as much as you want but you are expected to be quiit when you return after 11:00. To me that's just common courtesy so it was no problem.
