Haunted Mansion... not true, but it's creepy Aug 09, 2012
This is a bed and breakfast located in the small town of Ojai about an hour north of Los Angeles. This was kind of a surprise trip for me so I didn't do any research before heading out. Not even in the area.

The house is fairly large and if well kept could be a wonderful backdrop for a wedding. Unfortunately, when we went, the inn keeper told us that her gardeners had been away for two weeks, through the grounds look as if they have not been kept up for more like two months.

The inn keeper is super friendly and made a vegetarian breakfast for us both mornings because we had informed her of the fact that we are vegetarians. The breakfast was delicious, she even made fresh bread for us that morning.

They had a jacuzzi you could use day or night. Though it took about 4 hours to heat up. Once it was on, it felt great.

We made dinner one night and had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare the meal. Another night, we walked down the street to one of the best restaurants in town. That was a great walk, a great restaurant, and wonderful experience.

There are tons of citrus trees and a large avocado tree which she let us pick as much as we wanted, the fruit was delicious and organic. A total plus.

We were told we would have a fire starter for our in room fire place. We went on a hike and when we returned, we had to remind the inn keeper to bring us one. Turned out she didn't have any and had to go to the store to get it. We could have gotten one while we were out, so it was kind of a pain to have to wait for them to get it, and come back before we could relax. Also, they didn't know where they had firewood, so we had to hunt for it in total darkness in the grounds. Something we could have also done earlier in the day if we would have known.

The bedroom have no door locks and there are pretty large gaps under the doors.

She had not picked up her dogs land mines (dog poop) before our arrival. So we had to walk carefully though the yard to get to the saloon and jacuzzi in the back yard.

With the dog poop everywhere, the aroma while in the jacuzzi was not pleasant.

The saloon was very very dirty but we played pool anyways. The saloon was dusty and there was junk all over the place.

There was a sitting pool too, and that was also dirty. And like I said earlier, the gardeners had been gone so there were hundreds of oranges all over the grounds.

I saw photos of the mansion in a wedding book. The place was beautiful, no fruit on the ground, and the common areas looked very clean. I guess that's the benefit of photoshop and a gardener.
