Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Springfield Reviews
Honest Abe's Library has fun twist! Oct 25, 2011
This was one library I didn't even know existed until making my way to Springfield for the other sights in the area. It was recommended to us from the employees at the Lincoln Museum. Located directly across the street from the museum, and free to get in. Why wouldn't someone want to visit and see for themselves.
The library had many books to read but these books were special edition types. There also was specific books of Abe's collection, more like over 5,000 self written by him or related to his immediate family. He had many well known politicians that donated books related to him. The library receives many donations of books, manuscripts, and other things that arise from time to time. True Lincoln collectors may view the originals for studying and researching by appointment. If I had enough time I would of loved to read some of the writings Lincoln wrote myself.
We also seen many of the original things the soldiers had on display from the Civil War and photos too during that era. The library was designed with originality and very educating at every moment.
