I've been living in TLV for 5 months so far on business and can vouch that it's a great place to visit. The locals are all young, as they live here after leaving the army and before starting families. Most speak reasonable English. It's not a particularly religious place either. There are bars and restaurants everywhere - the quality is very good. The beautiful Israeli girls on the beach have to be seen to be believed! There is a lot said about the Bauhaus architecture here, but it's very run down in places. It's ultra humid in July-August, but 27C and pleasant today (end of October). As to safety, I would say that I feel safer here in Israel than back in London. It is the only place I've known in the world where you can walk home at night knowing nothing's going to happen. The most dangerous thing here in all honesty is the standard of driving! There hasn't been any trouble here in a long time, although I know a couple of places that got bombed a few years ago.

The cities of Jerusalem, Haifa and Eilat are must sees too.

There are more photos on my website www.simoninisrael.com.

Hi! I'm going to be going to Israel on a structured 10 day tour in December, but I'm going to stay 3 or 4 more days so I can have a few days with freedom to do whatever I want and I would love to hear the advice you have on the must-sees and must-dos in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. And how long does it take to get to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv?
