Abitohotel Prague Reviews
Very good hotel for that price Apr 15, 2013
I think I never had such a good hotel quality for that level of expenses for accomodations before.
In April 2013 (in Prague considering already as "High Season") I just paid 535 crownes (20,80 euros) a night in a two-bed room (but just for me). So 2 nights for 41,60 euros for a weekend was a very good deal.
The hotel was built in 2011 and the rooms still look very new with the flawless furniture. You have also a flat TV in the rooms (but only with czech channels and radio stations).Even a fridge is in the room, but switched off. Actually that's not necessary as nearly every floor has a common kitchen (very clean and barely used) with fridge and facilities for cooking.
The toilet and the bathroom in the rooms are separated - so no problem if someone is paying a visit and the other is having a shower in the same time.
Breakfast time is from 7 to 10 am. I was surprised of the rich selection in the buffet. Almost everything you take for breakfast was available and one employer refilled within minutes when some ingredients ran short . Used seats were tidied up quickly.
The wifi area is only at the reception - you have also a personal computer there to browse in the web.
Because of the cheap price you can imagine, that the hotel is not situated in the middle of the old town. You have to take the tram to get in a half hour to the old town. But... Prague has an excellent public transport system. The trams usually ride every ten minutes. The metro even more frequently. Only at night (0-5 o'clock) the trams ride every half hour.
As you see practically only tourists in the old town it is actually nice to get from that area at the evening and see some locals as well.
Very close to the hotel is a supermarket (Kaufland), where you get nearly everything for discount prices (I bought a map of Prague for 80 crownes).
The only thing to criticize is the temperature in the rooms. For some reason it was quite warm in the room - for just having 15 °C outside. When I was in the hotel it wasn't sunny all the time, so that's a bit weird. However it was warm. I suppose that it could be much warmer in summer (no air-condition in the rooms). If you open the window you hear sometimes the train riding, so for sensitive people not recommandable book rooms with windows in the south side.
Though it is a very good and cheap place to stay. I would recommend this hotel rather than the ones in the old town.
To not get confused with the large tram traction network you should get one in a information spot in Prague or print it at home.
The hotel's stop is "Teplarna michle" and rode by the tram 11 (at night 56).
