Abancay is the capital of Apurimac. It is located in a beautiful valley of white lilies and is famous for its colorful carnival. Also it has one of the best weathers in Highlands.
Abancay is the departure point for tours around the region. The Ecological Park of Taraccasa is ideal for observing the city. The National Sanctuary of Ampay, is considered one of the natural and ecological attractions. It has a varied wild fauna and is ideal for eco-tourism: mountain, climbing, hiking and trekking. This is a small city with friendly people, maybe not as touristy as other places, but great to visit!

It's a small city in the valleys in Highlands. Always sunny. So peaceful... If you are looking for adventure, you have to do the Choquequirao trekking. It's amazing. I haven't done it... yet ;) Does anyone want to join me?
Abancay had always been in my list of destinations, but never couldn't find the time to do it. This time my mom had to go there because of business, so I decided to join her. She was born there, so it was great to know her home town. I felt so ashamed I haven't...
