Aaran House Tourist Hostel Cork Reviews
Aaran House Tourist Hostel Jun 24, 2006
A single lady named Tracey runs the hostel. She can arrange a taxi to and from the hostel for 15 euros.
This hostel is okay, and extremely close to the train station. If I were a good baseball player, I would be able to throw a stone at the station. It is a two-minute walk to the train station and an eight-minute walk to the bus station.
There is a self-catering kitchen on the premises – as well as a dog! There is also a dining room and living room with a small TV.
The water temperature in the showers cannot be controlled; it is luke warm at best.
There is no lockout or curfew, not even during the day for cleaning. The cleaning consisted of emptying the trash – the bathroom was not cleaned nor was the floor vacuumed. Check out is at 1030 but you are allowed to leave your luggage in the hostel all day, until you are ready to leave.
Even though there is no sign, one cannot use the laundry facilities. If you decide to use the facilities, it is 8 euros per load to wash and dry. There is a laundry mat nearby that is cheaper.
No meals are included in the price but the linen is. There are no security lockers nor are there locks on the doors.
The best aspect of the hostel is the price.
