ANZ Guesthouse Selcuk Reviews
Maybe, maybe not Sep 17, 2009
We had no problems locating the guesthouse, because we had a map.
The room has no blankets, only a bed cover, which I didn't think was suitable as a blanket. I mean, even the grubbiest pension provides blankets, isn't it?
There was a slightly strange smell which we got used to.
The owner is alright - he frequently recommends his brother's/uncle's/son's shop for meals, but really, it's nothing to shout about. Would have appreciated if he told us there's a wide variety of restaurants in the city centre which isn't far off.
We got a free ride to Ephesus so that's a plus for them. They have these self-made information books in the lobby which was useful. They also allowed us to borrow the books to Ephesus.
Air-con was charged at 9.50lira/room per night, which I didn't think was minimal. If that was taken into account in hostelbookers.com, other pensions would have appeared more appealing price-wise.

While it is quite obvious this place is making a blatant push for the antipodean backpacking market and they are far from shy, they are quite honest and friendly in their approach to their customers. Upon arrival each member of the staff (family?) drop by to introduce themselves and to pitch whatever service or product it is they want to sell you. However, they were all very friendly and they gave us plenty of great advice and assistance during our stay. This place has a great roof terrace and downstairs, outdoor lounge area.
