A beautiful city, just dont stay in the Hostel I did Reviews

Jul 26, 2006
Budapest was fantastic. I was lucky, I had met someone earlier in Poland who was from Budapest, and was willing to pick me up from the train station, walk me to my hostel (blue danube, very nice but so far away from everything and $$), and take me out to eat at cheap restaurants. Other than the fact that it was blazing hot the entire time (30+ C) which was a running theme throughout the summer, the city offered some very nice scenes. My personal favourite was the view from the castle over the danube river, with the parliment in the background. Speaking of the parliment, it looked almost like an ancient castle, that had somehow been burnt in certain places (black marks). St. Stephen's was georgeous and the food was fantastic. The beer was pretty good, and everything was wonderfully inexpensive, as long as you didnt go anywhere too fancy.
