A Ginjinha Lisbon Reviews
Great liqueur Dec 01, 2010
This place is famous for one thing and one thing only - the Ginjinha liqueur.
The tipple is a firm favourite with the locals. It is made from sour cherries, and is drunk in small quantities like a sherry. The small amount is very strong, tastes a little like toffee or liquorice, and definitely warms you up. I cannot remember the exact price, but it's not more than a couple of Euros.
There aren't any seats inside. You literally just queue up in the small shop, take your small plastic cup and head back outside to walk around and sip away.
This is probably the best place to try the tipple in Lisbon, and I thoroughly recommend that you do so.
