A Castellana Caccamo Reviews
Local specialites of Caccamo - history and culture! Sep 22, 2009
At the base of the castella you'll find a restaurant with nothing but homemade local recipies.
Rob had the chef's choice of local specialties which gave a great overview of the food of the region. It was alot of food in three courses. He had a huge plate of antipasti (meats, cheeses, and olives), then a pasta course with two pastas (mushroom & meatsauce) & (a tomato cheese sauce), and finally the meat course (veal, sausages, bacon wraps with cheese inside and fried).
All in all the price was around 35 euro for the whole meal, not a bad price.
I had a homemade pasta with a sauce of mashed beans and fennel. It was very earthy and rich, like nothing I've had before.
The family was friendly and service was good. If in the area...stop in for a meal. You leave with a smile.
