A Bolboreta Remonde Reviews
Off the Camino Jun 23, 2014
This was a small hostel in a very private location 2 km off the Camino. We were a little surprised by the extra hiking to get to the hostel but it was a nice, quiet location. Easy to get rest, no noise problems at all. A good place to recharge your energy.
Our room had two bunk beds but we did not have to share the extra bunk with anyone. There was a nightstand between the bunks and a wardrobe to hang things. The window had a large sill which was nice for laying belongings out too. The bathroom was spacious.
There was a washtub out back and also a clothesline with clothes pins provided.
A man and a woman ran the place. They were both very helpful. The man even drove us a few kilometers down the road for our attempt at hiking to the ruins of the Pambre Castle.
Dinner was served in a large, airy room. It was really good and even with only eight people to feed, we still had options on what to eat. Breakfast the next morning was self-serve and included in the price of the night's stay.
A Bolboreta is in a tiny hamlet, no stores, no cafes. It really is up to you to keep yourself amused.
When we left in the morning we followed an alternate route that we had seen posted in the dining room back to the Camino. We are pretty sure that doing this instead of backtracking the way we came allowed us to not have to walk any extra distance that day, greatly appreciated.
Total cost per person for the stay and dinner was 21 euro.
