Rustic B&B Apartment in Lower Bergamo Apr 24, 2011
I stayed at this B&B in January 2011 and was very content with my stay.

The apartments are located in the lower town but close enough to walk to the old, upper town. Although it is advertised as a B&B it does not offer breakfast. The apartments are equipped like a studio apartment. There is a fridge, microwave, sink and hot plate if you wish to self-cater. There was also a kettle and a french press for all your coffee or tea needs (provide your own coffee and tea though). The great thing is that you get your own key and you can come and go as you please. Also, I found it a bit cold as it was January, but you can control the room temperature by the thermostat in your room.

I thought the room was rustic in that old Italian building kind of way - high ceilings, tall windows, ceramic floor. I thought it was charming because it was decorated with the owner's art. Yes, the owner, Andrea Massara, is also an artist. Also, the building is on Via Tomaso which is down the street from a major art gallery and smaller art studios and shops.

The downside was that there were renovations going on in the building (more apartments) but I'm sure they would be finished by now. Also, there was no wifi, but that could have also changed by now.

I would recommend this is you want your own space and don't mind walking to the Citta Alta (the real tourist attraction).
