7-11 Stores in Thailand Jan 08, 2008
7-11 stores are everywhere in Thailand. I saw them in just about every town I was in from Chiang Mai to Ko Lanta and Bangkok is flooded with them. I hate to see them taking business from the local market owners and I also hate to say that they are the perfect place to get your basic traveler shopping done. They are always there when you need a bottle of cold water or need a little snack.

Convenience stores are for convenience and 7-11 is convenient. They have the basic stuff you need to make your travels better.

Shopping at a 7-11 is easy. You don't even have to know how to speak Thai. Everything is clearly marked with prices, the cash registers clearly give you the total price on a digital screen and every store is comfortably air conditioned for your shopping pleasure. Once you have been into one store you know what to expect of the rest because they all have just about the same items.

i also hate to agree that the 7 11s i usually stopped by in Thailand were life savers, i did feel bad for the locals too.. but they had everything i needed! The a/c inside felt amazingg..and they also make for easy directions. a few locals directed me according to "7 11"s :)
