62 Tran Phu Hotel

The 62 Tran Phu Hotel is located, well, at 62 Tran Phu Street which is more like a boulevard, being four laned. I stayed here for a few days last fall while seeking out an apartment in Nha Trang. The hotel is perfectly situated across the street (Tran Phu) from the beach and just around the corner from a wide variety of western bars and restaurants. Banking, shopping, and internet access is also nearby. Motorbike and cyclo taxis congregate on the corner.

The hotel is well in from the street and noise was not a problem. My room was well furnished with cable television, small refrigerator, and hot water. From its third floor location I could glimpse the South China Sea and the north end of nearby Hon Tre Island. The room was well lit by wide windows and a frosted glass door. Though they spoke no English, the cleaning staff kept the room spotless and supplied with fresh linen and towels. The girls at the front desk, nearer the street, spoke English and were kind, courteous, and helpful.

A fine open-air restaurant was conveniently located next door on the corner and provided excellent inexpensive meals. When I go back this fall, I will stay here again for a few days before settling back in for the winter in a house or apartment. Its location is ideal for adjusting into Nha Trang.
