5 Bedroom Apartment in St. Germain district of Paris Travel Reviews

Dec 26, 2005

When I went to Paris with 8 family members, we rented an exquisite 5-bedroom apartment on Rue St. André des Arts, very close to Notre Dame. A wealthy Parisian family with 3 children lived here, and while we stayed in their apartment, the family went to their villa on the French Atlantic Coast (lucky family, eh?).

The apartment was beautiful, with old and priceless furniture throughout.  As I stated earlier, there are 5 Bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is the master bedroom, where the couple who owns the apartment sleeps when not renting it out. It has very high ceilings, nice computer, grand bed and bathroom. Three of the bedrooms are childrens bedrooms, but they are very nice rooms with excellent views out the windows. The last bedroom is kind of small, in the loft of the apartment, and has low ceilings. Though it is pretty funky, it is very nice nonethless.

The family room has twenty foot ceilings with a grand fireplace, antique furniture, oversized comfortable chairs and a couch, and a dining table. There is a spiral staircase that goes up to a loft with a Plasma screen television, tan leather couch, and movie selection of over 100 titles! The kitchen is new with great appliances.

The only downside to this apartment is that there were so many antique furniture worth a lot of money (there was one dresser worth $50,000). Though these are very nice to look at, the owner of the apartment made a big deal about not breaking anything and we had to be quite cautious.

It's kind of hard to explain the beauty of this apartment, but I am providing photos to go along with this review. If you are ever in Paris with your family or a large group of people, and don't mind spending a LOT for a beautiful apartment, I would highly recommend this place.

tmohen says: The Hotel Napoleon is in the heart of the best of the City of Lights - practically across the street from the Arc de Triomphe. It's a few feet around the corner from the Champs-Elysees, and close to many of the 5 star hotels of Paris like the Plaza Athenee. The place is beautiful, recently redone,...
tipsfortravellers says:  have stayed at this hotel around 4 times in the last 18 months. It is an expensive hotel to stay at as it is right on the very glamorous and main tourist street of the Champs Elysees. This has the Louvre right down at one end and the Arc D'Triomphe at the other.     The prices a...
