Hotel 43 Apr 02, 2009
It used to be known as the Statehouse Inn, but now the downtown Boise hotel has a new name and look.
The Hotel 43 is considered a luxury boutique hotel. When I first reserved the hotel, I was curious what exactly boutique hotel meant. In short, it’s just another way of saying it has its own style and very individual from the “chain” hotels. Hotel 43 got its name because Idaho is the 43rd state, Boise sits on the 43rd parallel and 43 is a prime number, claiming it's unique just like the hotel. I thought there might be only 43 rooms, but there are actually 112. Most rooms offer views of the capitol building, or the foothills of the mountains. Inside all the artwork is from local artists and focuses on the urban landscape like the Rose Garden or Basque Block. There are two restaurants; the Metro café and the Chandlers Restaurant. They also have the Martini lounge and bar, which had some crazy partying (didn't hurt that there were about 30 raving mad Zou fans celebrating). The hotel also offers a specialty chocolate with the Idaho huckleberry, which is made right in Boise and only given to hotel guests. There are not a lot of choices for hotels that are downtown, so I would recommend this one. It wasn't the perfect stay, and they did raise their prices for the tournament, but all things considered, I would stay here again. The service was above average and the rooms were clean, very modern, and appeared newly remodeled. |

We enjoyed our 26th wedding anniversary during our stay. The dinner at Chandlers was excellent and we were both especially blown away by the jazz singing of Brianne Bower that night. The bed was most comfortable and staff very pleasant. The only c...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Not worth it Oct 11, 2006
The Statehouse Inn recently changed ownership and it just isn't the same. The rates change daily; policies are anal-retentive and unfriendly. Their long-time staff has been run away. The customer service is terrible. They would have to pay me to s...read entire review at TravelPost.com

We returned to our hotel (the Hotel 43, which I'll do a review on to help explain the name) around one am. In the morning we will go to the arena in time for the first game, which starts at like 9 am.
