In addition to the 1st Cavalry Division Museum there is a museum dedicated to the 3rd Cavalry Regiment which was established in 1846 and is the largest serving Armored Cavalry Regiment in the United States military. This museum shows the history, uniforms, weapons, and equipment of the unit. When you first enter the museum you are greeted by a video of a soldier from the early days of the unit. By the parking area is a touching veteran’s memorial dedicated to members of the unit who died in the line of duty.

Like the 1st Cavalry Division Museum the 3rd Cavalry Museum has a number of vehicles on display outside the museum. Many of the vehicles on display here are armored personnel carriers, reconnaissance vehicles, artillery pieces, and various types of tanks built by Russia and its satellite countries or the People's Republic of China and sold to Iraq where they were captured during the Persian Gulf War. Hours are Hours are 9 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. Visitors without a military ID must get a pass at the main gate. Admission is FREE but donations are accepted.
