Memorial & museum for 26 martyrs Jul 26, 2000
This monument and museum was constructed and finished in 1962, to remember 26 christians that were executed on this spot back in 1597. They were killed to deter the christian community in Nagasaki.

The monument is made of large concrete bricks with in the center a cross, with a long width with the 26 murdered christians portrayed in bronze statues.

Beyond the monument is a museum, an entrance ticket costs 250 yen (around 2,50 euro or around 3 US dollars), but we didn't go inside. So, unfortunately I can't tell you if it's worth to visit the museum or not. The monument is free to see.

Didn't you have the time to visit the museum, Ivar? Because it's quite cheap.
