Rich American cuisine made with local food in the heart of DC Sep 07, 2010
It's only been open since 2008. 1905 is right off of the historic U street corridor. It's a fusion of a bistro and a hole in the wall.

Once you arrive at the building, you have to head upstairs. The main seating area couldn't hold more than 40-45 people and it's be crowded and then there are a few seats at the bar.

Entrees go from about $16 for a burger to $30 for a filet mignon. They have port wine and absinthe is available (thought to have had pyschoaddictive properties, it was banned in the US in 1912, it recieved appropriate approval to return to the US in 2007).

The decor will take you a while to take in, it's a bit eccentric, but not too loud. It's a worthy discussion. The service is casual and the food was good.
