150th Anniversary of the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run Nov 07, 2011
Every year or so, the city of Manassas Virginia puts on a civil war reenactment of the battle of bull run, the first real engagement between the armies of the north and south. Although certain liberties have been taken to make it a safe, convenient and involved affair to to visit, the major (large) reenactments tend to be spaced at five year intervals. The photos attached are from the 2011 event which marked the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of First Manassas/Bull Run. There is a lot of accommodations for both the spectators and actors and many of sideline events such as films, history lectures and dances to keep you in the spirit. The summer time in Virginia can be quiet humid and sticky so dress cool and drink plenty of water.
