Countries I've Traveled To
Languages Spoken
English, some German, a little bit of Spanish, and I'm currently working on learning some Croatian. I can say "thank you" in many languages - that and a smile usually works! I can count to 10 in Finnish and Vietnamese... I generally try to learn at least greetings and thank yous for every country I visit!
Interests
Books you might find in my backpack
Music you might find me listening to while waiting for my plane
Most Memorable Travel Experience
Getting searched by Serb border guards while crossing over from Bosnia, drum circles in Marrakech, meeting the young guy at Lolei, Cambodia and seeing their English school. Can't decide which is most memorable! But so far, Cambodia is the country that has really blown me away, completely... The people are beautiful, open, curious, friendly, honest... The country has been ravaged by war and its aftermath, and decimated by the horrific Khmer Rouge regime. But they still find a way to stay happy and keep smiling - just amazing!
Profile
Redefining my life - less corporate nonsense, more world travel. Interested in teaching ESL as a means to keep traveling. From Rock Island, Illinois, US... living in the Denver area currently. I would love to show anyone around Denver and especially Colorado's beautiful mountains!
