You Can Bank on it. Mar 26, 2017
This is THE place many city bankers go for breakfast, lunch, dinner and binge champagne drinking I have no doubt. Expect to pay a lot of money unless you do what I did. I booked a great deal on the OpenTable website. The OpenTable deal is fantastic. You actually get a OpenTable menu when you

arrive. They choose the starter and you choose the next 2 courses and desert. The food was delicious! My first was a tasty tomato and basil soup. This was followed by Asian seared pink salmon, my main was a wonderful tasting chicken dish followed by the best cheese I have ever had in a London restaurant. This was washed down with a fantastic half carafe of red wine. The portions are not massive, but the deal fills you up.

The venue is great too. The building is, you guessed it, a former stately bank. It is a listed historical building and looks the part. There is an absolute buzz the second you enter and it is a very large venue. Service is good. You may have to wave, but pleasant enough. The bathrooms are impressive and the bar area is beautiful. It is a very nice place to dine.

The whole area is impressive as you are in the ‘Square Mile’ full of history and fantastic architecture. The venue is next door to Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London. It is also across the street/intersection from the Bank of England and the Bank of England Museum (free).

The OpenTable Menu of course!
