06 Central Hostel Buenos Aires Reviews
06 Central Hostel Jul 17, 2016
06 Central Hostel is in one of those old buildings that from outside don’t look like spacious mansions, but when you get above first floor shops there is incredible opening and beautiful space.
I got back to Buenos Aires with the morning bus from the pampa adventures, and entered a bit of rainy cold morning city. It was very easy to find and get to the place because it is only few blocks away from metro intersection where you can catch subways to all sides of the city. It is in the no tree street some three blocks from the huge monument (the condom as they told me) that beautifies the street of 16th October (or November). Block away is the street that is as famous as Broadway for its productions and numerous stores and small shopping centers.
You’ll have to know exact address because there is no sign on the building. There is interphone that has some labels and that’s it. When the door opens you are facing few flights of the stairs that are taking you to the beautiful area where most of the hostel is located. If you are carrying heavy bags, this stairs will make you reconsider to buying a backpack… So, when you get on the second floor you arrived to huge area of reception, beautiful concrete table and exquisite fire place that looks weird in its place. Everything is painted in strong and bright colors, probably to make this place a bit more “modern” (their most favorite colors are lime and orange). Ceiling is super high and it has nice windows that let lots of sun through. Connected with this area is spacious kitchen that features nice island and everything that kitchen needs. Breakfast is included in the price and it is consisted of lots of different breads (Argentina has great bread) and mostly sweet spreads (traditional Argentinean is Dulce De Leche spread). As far as food goes, you can bring anything you like including unlimited amounts of vine (another great thing about Argentina) and cook as much as you like. After the kitchen there is another hang around place where you can smoke and it is kind of open space between buildings. You’ll have to cross it if you are in the dorm and want to go to the toilets of showers because they are all on that side. Bathrooms are spacious, clean and plentiful, showers have good hot water and for them you have to climb some more stairs. There is also another room that serves as a chill out area, and there you can find bunch of books, TV, and some games.
My bedroom was for 4 people, spacious and it had good lockers for everyone. It was a bit on the side of the pathways so there was no noise that would bother my sleep. Internet is all over the place, but I loved to just hang out at the big concrete table that is actually some kind of cover for whatever space they have down below on the first floor. Generally it is a good place to stay and relax, so it is recommended :)
