(Unknown) - by the river - Taiping - TravBuddy

I tried, but it's hard to remember restaurant names. This one is by the river, upstairs from the port where the boats come in with their catch. It's got a roof but is open-air like every other restaurant in Taiping, with a view of the brown river and distant boats.

The specialty is, of course, seafood (or perhaps river food), which includes little shellfish that you have to pull out using a toothpick; crunchy fish fried whole; tiny sweet and sour squid and more. The food is unusual, cheap and delicious. Good luck finding the place, though!
